It appears we can also add patients from the labs section and this has been ongoing for the last 5 years.
Summary of the issue:
Currently physicians are locked out of patient demographics but are able to add a patient from the lab section.
This was found and discussed at the time of the lab interface and the feature was not demonstrated in the assumption that physicians would not use.
However there has been a few physicians within the clinic that have repeatedly added patients from the lab section.
