This item has been identified by QHR as an enhancement, but it is a defect. Although the system is working as QHR initially intended, this affects patient care within an enterprise environment. The risk with leaving the system as designed is a client could be administered a medication multiple times and suffer health consequences from the over administration of medication due to lack of functionality. The purpose of open providers from an account configuration perspective is so that we do not need to manually add each provider to each office and information is shared across the offices. With the Administer Medications option not being available, the initial prescriber needs to be added to the office manually by the application staff, which requires forms and time. In that time a patient could receive multiple doses.
